A headache can occur in any part of the head; one side of the head or both sides. Sometimes a headache can also occur in the front of the head or back.
Causes of headaches
The International Headache Society categorizes headaches into two types – Primary and Secondary.
Primary headaches are standalone illness and are caused directly by chemical changes in the brain. Factors that lead to primary headaches include tension, migraine, and injury.
Secondary headaches are the result of other disorders. They are the symptoms which take place when other conditions stimulate the nerves in the head which are sensitive to pain. There are several factors that contribute to headaches. Some of these include:
- Alcohol-induced hangover
- Blood clots
- Brain tumor
- Panic attacks
- Brain freeze
- Sleep deprivation
Treatment of Headaches
Headaches are usually considered a minor health condition and can be treated effectively.
